Maximizing Motivation in Sport and Physical Education Among MAPEH Majors of PLMun: Basis for Students’ Greater Task Involvement

The focus of this study is to determine the factors maximizingmotivation in sports and physical education among MAPEH majors of PLMun. This study was conducted in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, with the total of 50 2nd year and 3rd year MAPEH majors randomly. The researchers include on the questionnaire a four-point likert scale and imply descriptive method which aim is to determine the most and the least reasons in choosing Sports and Physical Education course.It also includes ranking to determine the best and the least factors thatIn this study, the researchers highlight purpose that PE andSports teachers’ task involvement should be fostered in order to enhance their motivation as well as their students to engage in physical activity. The questionnaire was given to the respondents is self-made by the researchers. After gathering the data, the researchers conclude that active participation and exposure ondifferent activities is the best factor that motivates respondents to MAPEHas a profession while facilities and equipment is the least factor. This undergraduate study utilized the random method of research.The random method of research used since the study gives randomly information about Maximizing Motivation in Sport and Physical Education among MAPEH Majors of PLMun: Basis for Students’ Greater Task Involvement.This research study proposed to use as respondents the Fifty (50)second Year and third year students of Music, Art, P.E, and Health(MAPEH) major in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMUN)randomly. The researchers chose them because they are suitable andfitted for the researchers’ study.These selected students automatically became part of this surveywhich were valued and were compiled for the betterment of the research.The following conclusions were drawn based on the findings of thestudy in terms of:Demographic profile, In age, the findings show that majority of the respondents were 20years old below. In Sex, out of 50 respondents, 26 of them were female and 24 of them were male. In field of expertise/interest, majority of the respondents were in the field and interested in team sports followed by dance while the least interest among respondents were in combative sports. In Extra-curricular activity/school organization affiliation, majority of the respondents belongs to dance club/group followed by varsity club. The least extra-curricular activity in which respondents were engaged in is choir. Among fifty (50) respondents, eleven (11) 22% of them do not haveextra-curricular/school organization affiliation. Reason/s and Purpose in taking PE and Sports course. The researchers conclude that the most motivating reason andpurpose in taking Sports and PE course is that MAPEH course ensuresthat the health, well-being and development of physically while learning.Most of the respondent’s state that MAPEH is not an easy subject to betaught.Factors that motivates and encourage the respondents to choose PE and Sports as profession.The researchers conclude that active participation and exposure ondifferent activities is the best factor that motivates respondents to MAPEH as a profession while facilities and equipment is the least factor.
Effect of Participation in Sports on theAcademic Performance of Student-Athletes inPamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa A.Y. 2015-2016

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between academic performances to the sports participation of student athletes at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. The descriptive-survey method of research was used for data gathering. The questionnaire was made to serve as the instrument for collecting data. The inquiry was conducted during the school year 2015-16. Upon initiation of the study, the significance, rationale and purpose of the study were provided to the respondents. Furthermore, the respondents have also been given the assurance that all the data they will give are used for the purpose of research in the identities of respondents will be confidential. The objective is to determine if there is a correlation between the engagements in sports to academic performance of the students at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. This is the manner unto which the study accounts the factors and the perception on the criteria. After gathering and analyzing the data,the researchers found out that there is no significant relationship between academic performance and the sports participation of the respondents. The significant relationship of sports participation to the academic performance of the students was determined through the computation of gathered data from the respondents. The computed value statistics for the Grade Point Average is 0.88 which is higher than the critical value 0.39 for the sports participation to the academic performance. Therefore, the null hypothesis is accepted.Determine the effect of sports participation to the academic performance of the students at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. The researchers made used of the descriptive type of research survey method to find out the effect of sports participation of the student athletes to the academic performance at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. The target respondents of this study was the 70 randomly selected student-athletes currently enrolled in Academic Year 2015-2016 in the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa.Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions are drawn: It can be seenfrom the data gathered by the researchers that majority of the respondents in this study is from ages 19-21. It is quite amazing that the difference of the number of both male and female is really close. This only shows that the studies done were true to this study that male has a high frequency of involvement in sports participation. When it comes from the college wherein they are connected, it can be seenfrom the data gathered by the researchers that majority of respondents is from the College of Arts and Sciences(CAS). It is safe to say that students from the College of Arts and Science enjoy the idea of participating in sports. With regard to the Grade Point Average, it can be seen from the data gathered by the researchers that majority of respondents got the grade point average of 1.51-2. It is clear to say that the students who are engaged in sports know how to balance their time between sports and academics. They know how to be responsible in the two areas of their life. This simply means that students are not after with the type of sports but they are after with the engagement regardless if the given sport used ball or not. The demographic profile of the students has a significant role in helping out the researchers in gathering the necessarily data that the researchers need in proving out if the sports has a relationship with the academic performance of the student-athletes in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. The level of participation in terms of class implying that majority of the respondents answered yes. Meaning to say, the respondents are still active and doing well even if they experience some difficulties in their time or schedule. Furthermore, when it comes to the level of participation in terms of training, respondents answered yes. Meaning they remain actively committed as student-athletes although they used to be get exhausted in their training. Additionally, in the level of participation in terms of competition, datashow that most of the respondents answered yes. Meaning the student-athletes still participate in competition and be part to experience the game. Findings showed that the student-athletes have no negative effect if they participate in the sports in connection to their academic performance. Therefore, this study proves that the student-athletes of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa can achieve good grades with their own different ways of time management in terms of sports and academic. In short, they prove that they can do multi-tasking.

Status of Athletic Training Program: Recommendation For AppropriateTraining Program

This research focuses mainly on the training program for the athletes that covers organization, administration and monitoring in promotion of the enhancement of the recommendations for appropriate training program to develop the full-skilled enhancement of psychological and physical condition of the athletes.Psychological, physiological, and historical backgrounds were not included since these fields would more time in order to be determined. Survey questionnaire is the main instrument to provide a reliable, accurate and correct information that is necessary to assess data for this study.The data gathered from the respondents at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa comprising to 127 students in relation to the research objectives were analyzed. This fact discusses the result of the self-made questionnaire answered by 127 students. The inquiry was conducted during the academic year 2015 – 2016. The researchers determine the level of implementation in training program as perceived by the athletes in terms of organization, administration, and monitoring. The overall mean score of the level of implementation of the training program for the athletes in terms of organization as perceived by the respondents got a verbal interpretation of “Fully Implemented”.Furthermore, the overall mean score of the level of implementation of the training program in terms of administration for the athletes got a verbal interpretation of “Fully Implemented” according to the athletes.Additionally, the level of implementation of the training program in terms of monitoring for the athletes got a verbal interpretation of “Fully Implemented”.In the analysis of the gathered data when it comes to the mean score of the three categories – organization, administration and monitoring, it shows that the three categories do not yield any significant difference from one another after applying the statistical tool. The computed value of one-way analysis of variance at 0.05 level of significance, the three categories were at 0.7419, which was lower than the 3.8900 tabular value. Since there is no significant difference, Scheffe Test is no longer applied.Determine the status of the training program at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. The researchers made used of the descriptive type of research survey method to find out the training program in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa who served as the researchers’ respondents.The respondents of this research comprise of 186 athletes who have different particular sports event. Athletes are currently studying in different courses and year levels here in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa.Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions are drawn: Most of the respondents are in the age bracket of 17-19 years of age and the least bracket of 27 and above. Additionally, most of the respondents are male. Based on the level of perception when it comes to implementation of the training program in terms of organization, administration, and monitoring, respondents answered that the given statements were “Fully Implemented”. It means that the status of training program for the athletes are well-organized. It shows that the three categories do not yield any significant difference from one another after applying the statistical tool. The computed value of one-way analysis of variance at 0.05 level of significance, the three categories were at 0.7419, which was lower than the 3.8900 tabular value.

The study deals with the comparison between the relationship of teaching culture-based education in teaching M.A.PE.H to the perception of the selected first year CTE students in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa for the S.Y 2015-2016.This study is conducted on the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, which is colloquially known as PLMUN. The Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa is consist of (5) colleges namely CTE, CBA, CAS, CTCS, and CCJ. However, this research focused mainly on the first year CTE students. In this study they used the Descriptive method since it best fits the study and Purposive Sampling technique for getting the population. The result implies that there is significance relationship between the relationship of culture-based education in teaching M.A.PE.H, This means that culture-based education can help the student to know more about the culture we have and in order to us to imply our culture and to be proud for it. And this will help also to the student to have better performance in class.To Provide Higher Specification about culture-based education in PLMUN students.The design of this research generalizing it across groups of people or to explain a particular phenomenon is Quantitative design. The researchers will use this design to describe the variables objectively and accurately.The researchers use the Descriptive method since it best fits the study. The respondents of this study are the perceived first year CTE in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa for the S.Y 2015-2016. Lstly, In this research, the researcher focus on the relationship of culture-based education in teaching M.A.PE.H as perceived by first year CTE students in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa for the S.Y 2015-2016.Based on the findings of this study, the following conclusions were drawn:As for the findings in number 1, majority of the respondents are in the age of 16-18 years old, it means at the age of 16-18 are in the first year level.As for the findings in number 2, majority of the respondents are in the female population.As for the findings in number 3, with a weighted mean of 3.57 with a descriptively interpreted as Minsan (Sometimes). It means that many of participants or students think that the Social Categorisation is sometimes related in their study.As for the findings in number 4, with a weighted mean of 3.01 with descriptively interpreted as Minsan (Sometimes). It means that many of participants or students think that the Social Identification is sometimes related in their study.As for the findings in number 5, with a weighted mean of 2.7 with a descriptively interpreted as Bihira (Rarely). It means that some of the participants or students think that the Social Categorisation is rarely related in their study.As for the findings in number 6, with a weighted mean of 3.04 with a descriptively interpreted as Minsan (Sometimes). It means that many of participants or students think that the Language is sometimes related into the study of their M.A.PE.H subject. As for the findings in number 7, with a weighted mean of 2.33 with a descriptively interpreted as Bihira (Rarely). It means that many of participants or students think that the Family and Accountability is rarely related into the study of their M.A.PE.H subject. As for the findings in number 8, with a weighted mean of 2.92 with a descriptively interpreted as Bihira (Rarely). It means that many of participants or students think that the Context is rarely related into the study of their M.A.PE.H subject. As for the findings in number 9, with a weighted mean of 2.82 with a descriptively interpreted as Bihira (Rarely). It means that many of participants or students think that the Content is rarely related into the study of their M.A.PE.H subject. As for the findings in number 10, with a weighted mean of 3.04 with a descriptively interpreted as Bihira (Rarely). It means that many of participants or students think that the Data and Accountability is rarely related into the study of their M.A.PE.H subject. As for the findings of number 11, the result implies that there is significance relationship between the relationship of culture-based education in teaching M.A.PE.H.
Perceptions of Third Year Mapeh Students to The Different E-Learning Applications at Pamantasan Ng Lungsod Ng Muntinlupa A.Y. 2015-2016

ABSTRACT This research study is being propose to know the perceptions in using e-learning applications as learning devices of the third year MAPEH students in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. To statistically analyse the information being gathered, the Quantitative method is being utilized. More so, the descriptive research design also applied by the researchers in order to describe and depict the general response of the given quota respondent, which consist of forty two (42) third year MAPEH students. Weighted mean formula is use to get the major response of the given respondent in each questions. T-test is formulated to conclude if the e-learning applications which are Schoology, Quipper and Edmodo really had a significant difference. This study is under the supervision of the college of teacher education in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. Data were gathered through survey questionnaire self-made by the researchers. Significance and purpose of the study were provided to the respondents upon answering the questions and make sure that their identity is confidential. Instructions were given clearly. The objective is to know the Perception of e-learning applications as learning device of third year MAPEH students at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa.This undergraduate study utilized the descriptive research design in order to determine the perceptions of third year MAPEH students to the different e-learning applications at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa.It is the most suitable method that the researcher used in order to comprehend all the data required to the study.More so, this study applied the descriptive research design and quantitative method, which is concerned on gathering numerical data. Through used of questionnaires and surveys, the researchers used this designed to describe the variables needed in exacted way. This research study proposed to use as respondent the forty-two (42) third year studentswith in Music, Art, P.E, and Health major in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa (PLMUN), who experienced and being involved of using Quipper, Schoology and Edmodo. The forty two students are consist of seventeen (17) male and twenty five (25) female, Forty (40) of them are regular students at same time there are two (2) irregular students who enrolled the same subject entitled “Educational Technology 2” under the supervision by Prof. Alejandro Tatlonghari. The questionnaire given to the respondents self-made by the researchers’ base in accordance to the content of the involved e-learning applications.The researchers come up to the conclusion based on the following findings being studied: The e-learning applications involve in the study got a different level of perception in accordance to the answer of the respondent which are the third year Mapeh Students. It being conclude based on the data given in each e-learning applications categorical mean result.No feature found out dominating to the Schoology application. No feature found out being dominating with the Quipper application. No feature dominating to the Edmodo application.

The focus of this study is to show the effect and effectiveness of the Learner-centered approach in relation to skills performance of the student. Teachers can get information and ideas by reading this research, teachers now-a-days always think of the best strategy they can use to their teaching. It must be simple yet conducive, Students engagement and other strategies that involve students and mention learning are called Learner-centered. The respondents of this study came from the 1st year students who are officially enrolled at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa for the school year 2015-2016.The researcher used the survey method and scoring rubrics as the primary tool to gather data.In order to come up with precise result, the researcher utilized both descriptive and inferential statistics in the analysis of data. After gathering the data,the researcher observed that the Effectiveness of LCC through Group Activities is, the students will participate to their co-members of the group and the teacher will observe the students if they are helping in the group.It also concluded in this study that the effectiveness of Learner-centered classroom approach through Practical exam of the student is, the teacher will let them to practice and master the piece that the teacher gave them, and then they will perform it through their Practical Exam.The respondents of this study came from the 1st year students who are officially enrolled at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa for the school year 2015-2016. Using the validated scoring rubrics, the research will came up to a result by random students in 1st year college PE2 (Dance) in PLMun CTE was conducted learning-centered approaches.The researcher will use different class who uses learner-centered approach in class. After the survey we determined the statistical analysis.The researcher used the survey method and scoring rubrics as the primary tool to gather data. On the rubrics, the researchers make sure that all the information that needed is taken and that the information has significance to the study of the researchers. The researchers used the descriptive type of questions and the likers scale to determine the effectiveness of a teaching strategy. Descriptive type of question is answerable by 4- Outstanding, 3- Very Satisfactory, 2- Satisfactory and 1- Needs Improvement. The respondents of the study choose the appropriate answer on the given choices. The researchers also used the five instruments in this study. Learner Centered Approach (LCA) Physical Education, Skills Performance, Activities, Group Activities and Practical Exam. Teacher Observation guide and Students’ Skills Performance Grades. The teacher-in-charge developed the LCA lessons, while the Skills Performance and Interest in PE were adapted.In order to come up with precise result, the researcher utilized both descriptive and inferential statistics in the analysis of data.The researcher concluded in this study that, Learner-centered classroom approach is effective to use in the skills/performance of the students, they are motivated to learn more when the professor give them an activities or group activities, they can easily get ideas by themselves and they can learn by the help of their own learning's. In terms of names, we observed that most of our respondents are girls. In terms of year, we have chosen 1st year Physical Education 2 in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa. During the research, in terms of the Effectiveness of LCC through activities, the student should be able to participate in the class for the activities conducted by the specific teacher; this is on how the teacher observe each of the students if they are really learning by their own.The researcher observed that the Effectiveness of LCC through Group Activities is, the students will participate to their co-members of the group and the teacher will observe the students if they are helping in the group. It also concluded in this study that the effectiveness of Learner-centered classroom approach through Practical exam of the student is, the teacher will let them to practice and master the piece that the teacher gave them, and then they will perform it through their Practical Exam.

Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) is moving quickly and expanding the range of computer technologies that assist the teaching and learning process. CAI is also known as Computer Assisted Instruction. CAI is also guided drill, practice, exercises, computer visualization of complex objects and facilitated communication between students and teachers. CAI helps to teach or encourage interactions that can be presented on computers in the form of text or in multimedia, which includes photographs, videos, animations, speech and music. The guided drill is a computer program that poses questions to students, returns feedback, and selects additional questions based on the students’ responses. This study aims to know the level of awareness in Computer Aided Instruction in teaching grade 8th student in their MAPEH class of Muntinlupa National High School.The descriptive method employed in the study.The respondents of the study were exact attendance of students of sections 1 and 2 in the Grade 8 students of Muntinlupa National High School (Main) students enrolled for school year 2015-2016.The researchers utilized a self-made questionnaire survey questions as the major source in gathering data in answering all the question stated on the statement of the problem. To assess the responses of the respondents the researchers utilized a five-point rating scale while five as the highest and one as the lowest. Based on the findings, the researchers endeavoured these conclusions:Most of the respondents age 14-16 years old and mostly female.Computer Aided Instruction (CAI):Power point Presentation statement number five is the rank one because it has the highest mean, so that the students are more interested to the discussion when they use power point presentation.Video Clips statement numberfive got the rank one because it has the highest mean, it is said that they really enjoyed the discussion when they use video clips in the lesson. Components of MAPEH: Music statement number four has the highest mean that’s why it is the rank one, so it is said that the teacher always perform first before they execute the given task. Arts statement number three is the rank one because it has the highest mean, for them it is better to use different visual presentation in the discussion a sketch using power point presentation.Physical Education statement number two and three are the rank 1 because it has the highest mean, to show the fundamental steps in dancing they include pictures in their discussion using power point presentation and it is better for them to use power point presentation in teaching P.E.Health question number four is the rank one because it has the highest mean that sometimes their teacher use video clips to make the discussion easier. There is significant relationship between Computer Aided Instruction (CAI) and the components of MAPEH in teaching Grade 8thstudents of Muntinlupa National High School –Main.
Perceived Sources of Emotional Stress and TheAcademic Performance of 2nd Year Mapeh Major Students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa A.Y 2015-2016

As college students, there are a lot of life changing decisions we have to make and challenges. Some of those challenges can be classes, difficulties with our schedule in the class, academic and financial obstacle. It seems impossible to find balance between school and friends, family, part time or full time jobs. This study is carried out to identify the perceptions associated with the sources of the emotional stress among the second year MAPEH students of Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa, the causing of stress that can be experience in a short or long term period. The researchers choose this study in line of the dangers of emotional stress if left untouched.The researchers employ survey questionnaire as research instrument for the respondents to answer.. The questionnaire was made by the researchers to gather data and identify the students that are being stressed. This study’s respondents are the sixty (60) 2nd year CTE MAPEH MAJOR students in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Muntinlupa during Academic Year 2015-2016. The researchers used of the descriptive method. The Likert Scalewas served as the basis for the interpretation of the result of the study. After gathering the dta it revealed that there was no significant relationship between the level of perceived sources of emotional stress and academic performance of the second year MAPEH major. It will help also to analyze how a person can be stressed to the environment that they are living with. Overall this study will provide a significant rule to every person that are being stressed.The researchers used of the descriptive method. Which refers to the design that describes the nature of the situation as it exist at the time of the study and to explore the course of particular phenomenon. It is because our topic demands survey method of gathering information among the selected population. The questionnaire was made by the researchers to gather data and identify the students that are being stressed.The Likert Scalewas served as the basis for the interpretation of the result of the study. It is a psychometric scale community used in questioners and is the most widely used scale in survey research respondent specifies their level of agreement to a statement.The majority of the respondents belonged to the group of 18 years old, and most the respondents were female. All of the respondents were single with a majority Grade Point Average (G.P.A) of 1.51-2.00.The level of perceived sources of stress was in average. Also, most of the respondents found that the highest rated were the most perceived sources of emotional stress. The academic performance of the respondents in terms of GPA was high.
